The Manage Dropdown List Options Admin tool can be used to edit and update the dropdown lists for standard and custom dropdown fields in CMap. The tool enables existing dropdown list options to be renamed and archived if they are no longer required.
You will need Admin access and access to the tool "Drop-down list options" to go ahead with this.

Access Dropdown List Options
- From your Dashboard, head to CMap's Admin area by clicking on the icon, found on the right-hand side of the page. Under the heading CONTENT, select Dropdown List Options.
- You will see a list of available options that will appear in the dropdown list. Select the required list that you would like to edit.
Any standard CMap dropdown lists will show here, as well as any dropdown(custom) lists created in the "Pages" admin tool using the Custom Field tool.
The standard drop-down options you may have are:- Activity Categories
- Campaign Types
- Project type
- Lead sources
- Reason for loss
- Report Categories
- Sectors
- Project Team
- Project Status
These standard lists cannot be deleted from your instance, but you can amend the contents. Click here to learn more about custom fields.
Amend and Reorder Item Names
Amend Item Names
You can amend the name of the contents of an existing dropdown option by clicking the icon located on the right-hand side of the item. Then once the name is amended, click Save.
If you wish to change the name of the list itself, you will not be able to do this for the standard lists, but for the custom list, you will need to change this in the admin tool "Pages".
Reorder Items
To reorder items in the list, click on the item (anywhere on the white area of the row) and drag to move the item to where you would like it to appear. Drop it and the list will be reordered.
Add Dropdown List Options
To add a new item to the dropdown list, you will need to:
- Head to the Dropdown List Options tool.
- Select the list you wish to add an item to.
- Next, enter the name of the item you wish to add to the list into the text box at the bottom of the grid and click Add Item.
If your dropdown list only has one item in custom or standard, the dropdown list will not appear on the page, but will appear when editing the page it is on. This happens whether or not you have used the single dropdown option.
Archive and View Archived Dropdown List Options
Archive Items
To archive an item in a list you will need to:
- Head to the Dropdown List Options tool.
- Select the list you wish to archive the item from.
- Then click the icon on the right-hand side of the item, CMap will ask you to confirm that you wish to archive the item. Click Yes to archive it.
View Archived Items
To view archived items, click the Show Archived Items link at the top of the grid. If you want to restore any of them, click Restore.
Hopefully, you can now manage your Dropdown List Options that appear throughout CMap, so that users have access to appropriate options when entering information into the database.
