User-Inspired Upgrades (UIU) Log 2024

Welcome to our comprehensive CSAT update log, where every high impact, low change management update is documented.

Each update has a unique 5-digit code, so if you'd like to know more, contact Support referencing the code and we'll be able to provide further, more technical, detail.

Feel free to explore the back catalogue of enhancements and learn how they can enhance your CMap experience.

Week 48 2024:

57129 — Sage Intacct: Improved Alternate Currency Handling for Invoices

We’ve enhanced how CMap handles invoices created in alternate currencies when pushing to Sage Intacct. If an invoice includes a custom exchange rate, it will now retain this rate and the alternate currency during the push. This ensures the invoice reflects the intended amounts without unexpected conversions.

For Intacct configurations with the new "Sales Invoices - Use Alternate Currency" flag enabled, invoices will align with your currency and rate settings. If changes are needed after pushing to Intacct, alternate currency details will be locked to preserve accuracy.

Week 47 2024:

51253 — Auto % Complete Calculation Consistency

We’ve enhanced the "Auto Percentage Complete" tool to ensure more accurate calculations. These updates fix issues with employee cost rates and prevent double-counting effort, especially during part-submitted timesheets over month-end.

This change provides more reliable data for recognising revenue and managing project progress.

Week 39 2024:

52025 — Refresh Dashboard Upgrades

We’ve made a major improvement to how you control and share dashboards with your users. Previously, refreshing dashboards came with some frustrating limitations: you couldn’t refresh individual pages, always wiped out what users already had, and worse, it applied to all users in the Security Group. Acknowledging the need for more flexibility, we’ve upgraded the "Refresh Dashboard" function.

Here’s how the new 3-step process works:

  1. Select the page(s) to refresh
You can now choose which individual dashboard pages to update e.g. just the "Home Dashboard" through to "All" pages.

  2. Choose to replace or append the selected page(s)
Decide whether to replace the existing content on those pages or append new dashboard boxes. With "Append," only new dashboard boxes are added, preserving users’ current dashboard setup.

  3. Select the user(s) to apply changes to
Instead of applying changes to the entire Security Group, you can now target specific users, giving you more precision and control.

This upgrade offers much greater flexibility! And for Pro & Enterprise customers, it also paves the way for some exciting new dashboarding updates in the future. If you haven’t heard from your CMap Account Manager yet, expect to receive more details soon!

57090 — New "Externals and Expenses Invoiced Between Dates" Report Builder field

We’ve added a new field to the Stages report type in Report Builder: "Externals and Expenses Invoiced Between Dates". This field helps you track the total invoiced amounts for Externals and Expenses within the date range you specify in the "Global Date Range" filter.

You’ll find this new field just below the existing "Invoiced Between Dates" field. Unlike the existing field, it focuses solely on Externals and Expenses, ensuring you can get the breakdown you need for better reporting.

Week 37 2024:

52025 — Add Resource to Budgeted Roles Only in Resource Schedule

Now, you can choose to add a resource only to budgeted roles with a single action, eliminating the need to manually remove resources from unbudgeted roles that were previously hidden.

With this new update, when you click "Add Person" or use the green box with the white cross, you’ll see a new checkbox for "Budgeted roles only" alongside the existing "Add to all stages" option. This allows you to target your resource allocation more precisely, ensuring resources are only added where they’re needed. By default, the feature remains unchecked, offering flexibility in how you assign roles. Whether you're working with hidden or visible roles, this enhancement simplifies project management and saves you time.

Week 34 2024:

49748 — Move Timesheet Entries Tool incl. Task & Activity Filters

The Move Timesheet Entries tool now offers greater precision. Previously, the tool only allowed filtering by date, which limited its flexibility. With this update, you can refine your selection using Task and Work Activity filters (if your use this optional feature).

These new filters give you the control to focus on specific areas of a project, streamlining the process of rehousing time and ensuring accurate adjustments.

Week 24 2024:

48165 —Time Off Clashes Dashboard Box Improvements

Resourcing a user on a public holiday now correctly flags as a clash, reflecting periods where the person is unavailable but has been allocated work. This update ensures these conflicts are highlighted.

Additionally, data from projects with statuses such as Dead/Lost Potential or Closed/Deleted Project has been removed. This refinement makes the list of entries more relevant, focusing only on active and meaningful project data.

Week 21 2024:

47705 — Increase Year Dropdown Limit to 15 Years

AEC Edition users, this update does not affect you, so you can ignore this message. For everyone else, we've addressed an issue you might not have noticed.

Previously, when scheduling invoices, the year was capped at 5 years from the current year. This restricted the furthest scheduling date to 2029 (2024 + 5). For those with long-term projects needing a longer timeframe, we've extended the limit to 15 years. Now, you can schedule invoices up to 2039 (2024 + 15).

Week 18 2024:

47705 — Roles Not Yet Resourced Dashboard Box Improvements

We've made two improvements. Firstly, the "Project No - Title" column is now left-aligned, enhancing readability and making it easier to scan project details. Secondly, Placeholders are now included in the data, as they represent undefined resources by definition, ensuring a more complete and accurate view of unresourced roles.

Week 05 2024:

42088 — Expense Item Project / Internal Code UI Improvement

If you make the selection of a project or internal code mandatory when adding expenses, we've improved clarity by introducing a radio dial. Now, it's easier to choose between linking to a project or an internal code. No more confusion with both fields having asterisks—just a straightforward, user-friendly experience.

Week 02 2024:

44532 — Flip Between Billing Types

You can now seamlessly switch an External's Billing Type between "Bill as Incurred" and "Bill as Scheduled". Unlike before, you're no longer confined to a single billing type once an invoice is created. Feel free to switch between these options whenever needed. Your historical data stays intact, and the new approach applies moving forward. Nice and simple.
