Spring 2025 Release: A New Approach to Product Upgrades

Fee Estimator Upgrades:

• In-line Editing: Say goodbye to the edit pencil! Simply click any editable part of the page to enter edit mode—no extra clicks needed.
• Auto-save: Forget about losing changes. Click away, and everything saves automatically—no need to hit enter or click save.
• Resource Profile Improvements (AEC): No more hiding financial data when editing a row in the Resource Profile. Now, figures will be visible and update in real-time as you make changes.
• Invoice Schedule + Expenses & Externals Schedule Alignment (AEC): These two sections will align and lock on scrolling—hurrah!
• Projected Margin Visibility (Consulting): We're adding a summary panel to show you the impact of changes without needing to navigate to the Projected Margin tab.
• Enter Adjustments as Percentages (Consulting): Enter a percentage directly, and CMap will automatically calculate the adjustment for you—no calculator needed!
• Re-order Additionals (Consulting): A new drag handle enables you to drag + drop to re-order the Additionals—no more clunky editing required!

Other Key Upgrades:

• Project Automation: When project dates change, key areas like Resourcing and Revenue will automatically update—saving time and keeping things consistent.
• New Project Automation Options (Consulting): New options will (1) automatically update the Probability % of a project when it’s marked as won, and (2) automatically update the Pipeline Stage when a project is won.
• Audit Logs - Revenue: Get the full story behind revenue updates, with detailed logs that track the how and why of every change.
• New Central Planner Filters: Stay focused with two new filter options—“Hide 100% Complete Stages” and “Hide Locked Stages” to reduce clutter.
• UI Refresh: CMap will get a facelift, featuring some color updates for a sleeker look—no structural changes, just an evolution in style.

Making updates in the AEC Fee Estimator is now faster and more intuitive than ever. In-line Editing lets you click directly into any editable field—no more edit pencil—so you can start making changes instantly. And with Auto-save, there’s no need to manually hit “Save” for single-line updates—just click away, and CMap commits your changes automatically. For tables, simply use the Save button to confirm your edits. These enhancements streamline your workflow, making it easier than ever to manage project budgets, tasks, and fees with confidence.

Projected Margin Upgrade (Consulting)

Currently, when changes are made to the project, you need to click into the Projected Margin tab to see how those adjustments affect the margin. This can create unnecessary extra steps when you’re making frequent changes. With this update, we’re introducing a summary panel that will display the projected margin directly on the main page. This will allow you to instantly see the effects of any updates without having to navigate between tabs—saving you time and reducing the risk of missing important margin shifts.

Adjustments as a Percentage (Consulting)

For Consulting users, we’re simplifying how you enter adjustments. Previously, you had to manually calculate adjustments or enter specific figures based on a set value. Now, you can enter adjustments as percentages directly into the system. Simply type a percentage, and CMap will automatically calculate the adjustment for you. This feature eliminates the need for external calculations and makes entering adjustments faster and more intuitive, helping you maintain accuracy and efficiency throughout the project.

Re-order Additionals (Consulting)

You can now easily re-order Additionals in the Fee Estimator using a simple drag-and-drop handle. Instead of being stuck with the order they were added, you can quickly click, drag, and reposition Additionals to group similar items together or tidy up your budgets—no manual editing required. It’s a small change that makes managing your Additionals much quicker and more flexible.

• Hide 100% Complete Stages: Exclude stages that are already done and dusted.

We’re giving CMap a fresh look with a UI refresh that focuses on updating the color scheme and overall aesthetic for a more modern and polished appearance. This update is all about visual refinement rather than functional overhaul—there will be no changes to the layout, pages, or buttons. The aim is to make CMap feel more visually cohesive and user-friendly, with a cleaner and more contemporary design that’s easy on the eyes while keeping everything you love about CMap intact.
