Set up and manage Tags

Tags can be used against Contacts, Companies and Project Stages in the Fee Estimator. Tags can be used to enable your users to search for Contacts or Companies (or report on Project Stages) based on specific properties or attributes.

The most important Tag is the "Supplier" Tag on the Company Record as this must be added for all Suppliers to enable Purchase Invoices to be added into CMap.

Add a new Tag

1. From your Dashboard, go to the Admin tab by selecting the  icon.  On the left-hand side navigation bar, scroll down to CONTENT and select Tagging.

Any Tags that are already set up in your CMap will be listed here. Standard Tags include “Client” and “Supplier”. You may also use “Reference Supplier” if you have References turned on.

2. Enter the Name of the tag in the text box e.g. “Print Supplier”, select whether you want it to be attributed to a Company, Contact, Stage, or all three.

3. Click Add for it to be added to the system Tags that will be available to users.

Edit a Tag

To edit a Tag, use the  icon at the end of the row to change the Name of the Tag and whether you would like it to be applied to a Company, Contact or both. Press Save to update your Tag.

Archive a Tag

To Archive a tag, click mceclip0.png next to the appropriate Tag to Archive it. A pop-up box will appear asking “Are you sure you want to archive this tag?” Click Yes and the tag will be Archived.

This will stop users from assigning the Tag to Companies or Contacts but will not remove it from any existing Companies or Contacts that are already associated.

Hopefully, you can now set up new Tags and manage your existing ones. This will drive consistency with your users and ensure they are selecting appropriate Tags for Contacts, Companies and Stages within CMap.
