Resetting Passwords

There are a few different ways to reset a User's Password. Self-Service options are available to the end-user as well as Admin Tools such as the User Password Reset Tool which is a quick and easy way for Admin Users to set a temporary password for a CMap user when they have forgotten their password.

There are three ways to handle this in CMap:

1. The User can click on the 'Oops, I've Forgot my Password!' link and the system will send the User a new password to then log in with via email.

2. Admin Users can set a temporary password for a CMap User.

3. Admin Users can reset a CMap User's password. 

Password Reset

1. From your Dashboard, head to CMap's Admin area by clicking on the  icon, found on the right-hand side of the page. 

2. Under the heading USERS & SECURITY, click User Password Reset

3. Enter the Username of the User in text box. This is marked by a green asterisk. 

4. Enter your chosen New Password into the New Password box.

Ensure that the New Password is at least 10 characters in length, it contains upper & lower case letters, has at least one number and one of the following characters !£$%^&*@#~

5. Re-confirm your New Password in the Confirm Password box and click Save Changes.

Hey presto! The password for the selected user will be amended. All you will need to do from there is provide the user with the New Password you have set up for their user account. The user will then be able to change their Password by navigating to their Account on their Dashboard when they log on to CMap.
