The Leads module in CMap enables you to record your initial interactions with your clients. This tends to be a very early opportunity, so there isn’t necessarily a budget in mind for the Project. By creating a Lead, you can add Activities to help you to keep a Lead from going cold. You can also track the conversion rate of Leads to a Potential or Live Project, as well as monitor the sales pipeline from an earlier stage.
You are not required to add a Lead in CMap, you can just skip straight to a Potential Project if you have a budget or Statement of Work.

Create a Lead
- From your Dashboard, go to the CRM tab and select Leads.
- You will see a list of the Leads in your CMap instance. Click the
icon at the top of the Leads grid and you will be taken to the Add Your New Lead page.
- Complete the New Lead form.
These are configurable to your Company’s CMap set up, so the example below may differ from your instance. Should you need any support in completing the Leads form, please contact your CMap Admin user, or our Support Team.
Field name
Description
Title
The name by which the Project will be known.
Company
Who the client is.
Contact
Who the lead contact at the client company is.
Office
The office to which the Project will belong (i.e. the Lead Office).
Account
The internal account the project belongs to.
Stage
The stage you are up to in the sales process.
Probability
The percentage likelihood you have of winning the Project.
Fee Type
The Fee approach of the Project.
Note: This will determine the billing method of the Project.
Project Type
The type of service that you will be providing on the Project
Lead Source
Where the Project has come from.
Co-pilot
This allows you to share the Project on a designated persons Dashboard.
Owner
The person responsible for the sale of the Project.
Mandatory fields are shown with a green asterisk (*).
- When you’ve captured the necessary information, click the Save button and your new Lead will be added.
Edit a Lead
As Activities are added and completed, you may find you need to edit the Lead details. CMap makes this really easy for you and can be completed in just a few clicks. We recommend that this data is kept up-to-date as the Project progresses.
- From your Dashboard, go to the CRM tab and select Leads.
- You will see a list of the Leads in your CMap instance. Click the Project No-Title you wish to edit.

You will be taken to the Project’s Lead Details page. Click Actions on the right-hand side and then click Edit.

You will be taken to the edit page, which is identical in layout to the Add Your New Lead page.

Make the necessary changes and click Save.
