Spring 2021

Auto-populating Time Off update

We’ve improved the feature that auto populates time off in timesheets to better handle part-time users.

A calculation change now ensures that one day of time off for a part-time user always equates to a full, standard working day when it comes to populating the number of hours in the timesheet.

A new user permission has also been created to enable you to disable the feature for specific users and ensure that everyone receives the best possible user experience.

Part-time User Reporting update

There are 2 key updates:

1. The way that time off is calculated in the Staff Availability report has been updated to ensure that one day of time off for a part-time user always equates to one standard working day.
2. A visual cue has been added to the Staff Availability and Staff Utilization reports — in the form of a yellow triangle — enabling you to identify part-time users at a glance.

Projected Margin Tab improvements

There are several significant improvements, including:

  • The “Additionals – Cost Price” field now uses the cost price of additionals from the Fee Estimator.
  • The FX rate now uses the rate as per the Project Start Date, rather than the date(s) of the most recent role cost change(s).
  • The Projected Margin tab is now saved as part of a Fee Estimator Snapshot.

Margin-based Sorry So Far improvements

There are several significant improvements, including:

  • The “Original Plan” now captures original sales values and provides a baseline to compare against.
  • The “Future Additionals Cost” value now calculates as “Additionals Cost Value – Additionals Cost to Date”.
  • ”Future Scheduled Time” uses the employee cost rate if there is one, and the role cost rate if no employee cost rate is present.

Rate Cards in Days & Hours

We've updated the Rate Cards tool in the Finance tab, enabling you to toggle between hourly or daily values.

Ultimately, CMap saves both values in the rate card. So, if you set the rate card up in days, it simultaneously converts it into an hourly rate, and vice versa.

In the Fee Estimator, when you hover over a role to view its rate, it now displays both the hourly & daily rates.

And if you create project-specific rate cards using the “Customise Rates” tool, the toggle between daily & hourly rates appears there too.

View when Private Permission in HR Pages

We added a new “Me” permission for HR-related Pages to enable a user to enter HR Pages for their own data in the CMAP Winter 2020 Release.

However, “private” settings continued to override this, meaning that private custom fields weren’t visible to users in their own pages.

To address this, we’ve added a new “View When Private” setting that enables you to control whether the field should be restricted or available to the user.

Project & Stage Date updates

If you had the “Stage Dates” feature enabled, CMAP prevented you from moving the Project Start Date forward if it resulted in the earliest Stage Date falling before that date.

Now, when you move the Project Start Date, a pop-out appears that enables you to update the project’s Stage Dates at the same time.

If you previously disabled the Stage Dates feature because of this, please contact the Support team to arrange for it to be re-enabled. Stage Dates enables the usage of the Staffing Prediction Report (links to movie on release microsite).

Invoicing Amount updates

Previously, if you came to invoice an amount that differed from the original sale value, you were greeted by a pop-out that asked if you’d like to update the schedule value.

In order to remove this additional step, we now dynamically update the scheduled value as you add, edit and delete invoice lines in the invoice layout page.

This ensures the two values always end up tallying and, since it makes the extra step redundant, removes the need to have the pop-out.

New Permissions & Admin Tool

A couple of new updates:

1. We’ve added new “Contacts CSV Export / Import” permissions. Security Groups that had “Full Control” of Contact Details have been given this permission so there’s no change in user experience, however you can now choose to limit this functionality if you wish.
2. A new “Update Project Code” tool has been added to the Admin tab, enabling you to change the automatically assigned project code if you so wish. To gain access, all you need to do is update your Security Group(s).
