The development team are locked down, coding away on new features, upgrades and bug fixes to bestow upon you. Here's a heads up on the key developments that will be going live w.c. 27th February.
Client POs Upgrade
Currently, client POs exist at the project-level. That is to say, if you have PO Number 1234 on one project, and PO Number 1234 on another project (with the same client, of course), CMAP sees them as two separate POs because they exist on two projects. Changing the logic so that POs exist at the company-level will enable you to create one PO Number 1234 that applies to both projects (and any other number of projects you link it to). This approach enables you to answer questions such as "how much of this PO have we got left to use up?" in CMAP BI.
Move Timesheet Admin Tool (Ideas Forum)
We recognise that the process of re-opening a timesheet to move time around isn't always the quickest or slickest of approaches. So, we're creating a new admin tool that will enable you to transfer time between projects and internal codes. Sure to be hugely popular with admin users!
Workload Schedule Upgrades (Resourcing Advanced)
We're making some significant upgrades to the Workload Schedule tool. Sit comfortably. Firstly, we're going to give you the ability to toggle the view between days and weeks (currently it only gives a week view). Secondly, we're giving you the ability to toggle the display between days/hours and percentages (currently it only displays in percentages). Thirdly, we're adding a tooltip hover-over to over-allocated users explaining how over-allocated they are (currently there's no alert as to how over-allocated the user is - not all red is equal!) Fourthly, clicking the project will link you through to its Resource Schedule. Fifthly—and finally—,we're introducing a Workload Schedule dashboard that gives the user their own personal view. Phew!
The Workload Schedule is available to all users running Resourcing Advanced. In a nutshell, it allows you to quickly move resourcing between users in one interface (by dragging + dropping) to iron-out niggles, rather than having to click into the project's Resource Schedule. If this sounds of interest, drop me an email and I'll arrange for our Support team to set it up (although you may want to wait for the above first).
Security Permissions Update (Ideas Forum)
Work is continuing apace on our comprehensive security permissions overhaul. In fact, we're beginning to structure the new tools behind-the-scenes (they just won't do anything yet and you won't see them in-app). You'll hear more on this in the next sprint, including a separate email with extra detail on what the changes are and our timeline to launch. We want to keep this on your radar so you can plan for the switchover and give everything adequate thought.
