The development team are locked down, coding away on new features, upgrades and bug fixes to bestow upon you. Here's a heads up on the key developments that will be going live w.c. 13th March.
Some people love how the timesheet removes rows you haven't booked time to, tidying up after itself. Others think it's being a little too clever for its own good. So, we're going to give each user 3 options (1) the timesheet removes any rows that didn't have time booked to them the previous week i.e. what it does now (2) the timesheet removes rows that haven't had time booked to them for the previous four weeks (3) the timesheet doesn't remove rows full stop, meaning users explicitly choose when rows are removed from their timesheet. This should give people enough choice and flexibility to get the most pleasurable user experience for them.
CMAP allows you to create company records on the fly when adding new projects, rather than forcing you to create the company record in full first and then apply it to the project. We feel some extra controls to prevent instances of dupes, missing address details when invoicing, etc., would be really useful. Soon, only users with Full Access to Contacts will be able to create companies when adding new projects (other users will have to request for companies to be created). However, rather than just creating the company name and a contact (which is all that's captured now), if CMAP doesn't already have the company, it will give them a new pop-out that prompts them to fill in as much detail as they're aware of (giving you a means to capture all the things that are currently missed e.g. telephone numbers, address details, etc.). This should make it easier to protect the quality of your contacts database going forward.
Whilst you can delegate CRM Activities to other users (which is great) the delegated user doesn't have any guidance on who assigned the activity to them (not so great). So, we're adding a Created By and Created Date field to Activities, as well as a Created By column on the My Activities dashboard. This will make it nice and clear (and frankly, it's useful information anyway).
For users running Email Campaigns in the Marketing module, we're giving you the ability to copy an existing email campaign. When you choose to make a copy, a new draft campaign is created called "Copy of...". CMAP won't pre-populate the contacts, instead allowing you to choose new recipients from scratch.
We're adding a Reimbursable column to the Expenses Report to show whether the item was reimbursable or not. This completes the report and truly gives you the "full picture" view of expenses.
We've pretty much completed the planning and preparation stage of the security permissions overhaul, and are now commencing work on a suite of new tools. There's plenty going on behind the scenes and we'll be in contact soon to give you a detailed overview of the changes. We want to make sure you're well prepared for the switchover and have a gentle, smooth transition to the new set up.
