Firstly, we'd like to wish you all a very Happy New Year from everyone here at CMAP HQ!
So, with every new beginning comes fresh thinking and a revitalised outlook and we have been giving some extra thought to our development cycles here at CMAP.
As you already know, we work in pretty fast paced, biweekly development sprints, releasing lots of updates and improvements to CMAP at the end of each 2 weeks.
We really listen to feedback from the CMAP Community and a common theme has been that you would like us to slow down with the changes that we introduce.
So, we have decided to slow the pace a little. Not because we want to stop giving you exciting new features and developments, but because we want to spend some time making things quicker & more reliable and overall we want to give you the best version of CMAP that we possibly can. We'll still be working on those exciting new bits too, we'll just be taking a little more time over each one.
With that in mind, you may see less quantity in terms of things being announced from us, but you can be assured that the quality of CMAP will be getting better and better behind the scenes.
There are of course some things we will be working on in the current development sprint which you might be interested in, and these are detailed below for you.
We're looking to enhance the User Figures tool by adding options to either delete or add new entries. We are also doing some structural work on the tool in the background so that you should find that it's more intuitive when you come to use it.
Following the previous update to the CMAP Search, we are now planning to make some changes to the way we store information in CMAP.
Previously a name (project name, contact name, company name etc.) was stored as one long string. So with the new search 'starts with' function, if you searched for a word in the middle of this string, it would show no results.
We will be splitting the different elements of the names when we store them, meaning you will be able to go back to being able to search for words in the middle of a name just like before.
